Spend your fall break with Flat Rock River YMCA Camp on a service learning trip to South Dakota to work with the Sioux YMCA at Camp Marrowbone. This trip will be part volunteer work, part cultural learning, and part sightseeing in the surrounding areas.
Dates: October 14 – October 20 , 2018
Cost: $550 (covers all meals, transportation, park and camping fees)
Ages: 13-17 year olds
Capacity: 10 campers (2 Flat Rock Trip Leaders will accompany the group)
The Sioux Trip is a truly unique experience that allows campers to explore the wild grasslands of the United States, interact with people from different backgrounds than their own, and engage in service learning to help build future experiences for kids at another YMCA camp.
Campers arrive on Sunday, prepare for their journey on Monday. After exploring the next morning, the group makes their way to YMCA Camp Marrowbone in Dupree, South Dakota for several days of domestic cultural exchange and service learning projects.
