Counselor-in-Training (Age 17)

Counselor-in-Training (CIT)

The CIT program is a two-week program where participants are in a transitional period between camper and counselor. There is an expectation that they will be leaders among the campers. They get to choose clinics as well as participate in daily workshops. This program is designed for campers who have previously completed a year of leadership development at Flat Rock. CITs are required to complete an application to be accepted into the program. During the second week of camp they will work with an existing counselor in support of a cabin of younger campers to gain first-hand knowledge and skills and will receive an evaluation.

The CIT program is very helpful for 17 year-old campers to discern if they would like to be a counselor and completion makes their staff application stronger, but does not guarantee a position as a counselor.  Applications will be sent after individuals register for this program.
