Flat Rock River YMCA Camp offers multiple programs for the perfect outdoor experience. Engage in an expedition that will take your camper to some of the most beautiful places in the Midwest. Our adventures inspire our youth to be courageous, confident, and challenge themselves. On these trips our campers will make lifelong friends and memories.
Trip options for 2020
On your camper’s Outdoor Leadership Development adventures you will experience an epic adventure with amazing leaders. Our courses are beginner friendly with no outdoor experience requires.
We can provide all the gear needed for your camper to participate. No need to buy anything extra! During these expeditions teens will step out of their comfort zone and discover their potential. This session begins onsite at Flat Rock River YMCA Camp. Campers participate by taking in-camp activities Monday to provide skills needed for the trip. Tuesday morning the campers head to Red River Gorge for 3 days of hiking. The Red River Gorge is a unique and scenic natural area within the Daniel Boone National Forest in eastern Kentucky. Over the course of three days, they will camp out, hike, and rock climb the peaks that have the most breathtaking views. Our Backpacking Adventure Trips are designed to bring together young high school students from all different walks of life to grow and learn together in a fun and challenging way. Campers return to Flat Rock for the Camp Dance on Thursday and spend Friday catching up with their friends at camp, cleaning their gear and participating in Closing Campfire. The Backpacking Adventure Trip is a great way to attend camp with some extra adventure and challenges!
Whitewater Rafting Adventure Trip
Enjoy an opportunity that everyone should experience at least once in their lives. There is no experience needed for these trips, our experienced leaders will guide your camper right through. This adventure takes your camper on Mother Nature’s natural rollercoaster. Experience 4 rivers in just 5 days. During this time we will stop at U.S. National Whitewater center and enjoy more than just rafting. Campers will be able to rock climb, take a zip line tour and a waterfall hike.
