Father Son Camp: The Importance of Quality Time with Your Boy

“The number one thing I think for a parent is spending time with kids. That’s how you are going to demonstrate that you love them. Getting the time with kids becomes difficult as schedules become hectic or job demands come upon you.” -Tony Dungy

The father son camp at Flat Rock is an excellent way to establish an annual tradition with your son(s) that forces both quality and quantity time together.  As the father of three sons I enjoy the chance to have 2 nights and three days with them doing fun activities, but just as important is the time around the campfire, eating meals together, and the conversations we get to have to help them grow and develop.  I will treasure the time I have had with my sons during this weekend for years to come.

If you are the father of a son you should join the fun this September 28-30, 2018.  One of the additional bonuses is the community of awesome dads that attend and share with each other  over the course of the weekend.  We stay in cabins or yurts and you do not need to be an avid camper to attend.  Meals are served in the dining hall and you get to focus on the quality time and fun with your son.  We have grown this event from 14 people four years ago to just shy of 80 last year and this year have set aside roughly one hundred spaces.  Register and check out a listing of some of the activities available below.  The pricing is a tremendous value and none of us will ever regret the time we spend with our kids. – Don Sheppard, Executive Director
