Flat Rock River YMCA Camp offers multiple programs for the perfect outdoor experience.  Engage in an expedition that will take you to some of the most beautiful places in the Midwest.  Our adventures inspire our youth to be courageous, confident, and challenge themselves. On these trips our youth will make lifelong friends and memories.

Fall Mission Trip 
October 14 – 20, 2018

Spend your fall break with Flat Rock River YMCA Camp on a service learning trip to South Dakota to work with the Sioux YMCA at Camp Marrowbone. This trip will be part volunteer work, part cultural learning, and part sightseeing in the surrounding areas. The Sioux Trip is a truly unique experience that allows campers to explore the wild grasslands of the United States, interact with people from different backgrounds than their own, and engage in service learning to help build future experiences for kids at another YMCA camp.

Campers arrive on Sunday, prepare for their journey on Monday. After exploring the next morning, the group makes their way to YMCA Camp Marrowbone in Dupree, South Dakota for several days of domestic cultural exchange and service learning projects.  We will have availability for 10 campers, get your child signed up while spaces last!

Ages 13-17
Cost: $550 (covers all meals, transportation, park and camping fees)

 

Boys and Girls Outdoor Leadership Development (B.O.L.D & G.O.L.D)

On your Outdoor Leadership Development adventures you will experience an epic adventure with amazing leaders.  Our courses are beginner friendly with no outdoor experience requires.  We can provide all the gear needed for you to participate.

B.O.L.DJoin a community of young men for a one week backpacking expedition through Red River Gorge, located in the Daniel Boone National Forest. The leadership and wilderness skills that you gain on this trip will help you rise to challenges you may face, on the trail, in the classroom and in your community.

G.O.L.DOn the G.O.L.D trips young women are empowered to be courageous, be themselves and build strong relationship with their peers and mentors. Our G.O.L.D adventures will also backpack through Red River Gorge. Enjoy doing yoga while watching a beautiful sunset in the Clifty Wilderness Area.

During these expeditions teens will step out of their comfort zone and discover their potential.  Stay tuned for the 2019 dates.

Whitewater Rafting Adventure Trip

Enjoy an opportunity that everyone should experience at least once in their lives.  There is no experience needed for these trips, our experienced leaders will guide you right through. This adventure takes you on Mother Nature’s natural rollercoaster.  Experience 4 rivers in just 5 days.  During this time we will stop at U.S. National Whitewater center and enjoy more than just rafting.  You will be able to rock climb, take a zip line tour and a waterfall hike. Our 2019 dates are TBD.

International Trip
June 24 – July 13 2019

Experience this amazing 3 week adventure.  Spend one week sightseeing through Madrid. You will have the opportunity to visit many of Spain’s most famous places: Tour of Royal Palace, Tour of Real Madrid Bernabeau Stadium, shopping on Gran Via,  take a day trip to the medieval city of Toledo and more. You will spend your last two weeks at YMCA Camp Priego in Cuenca Spain.  YMCA Camp Priego is an English Immersion YMCA Camp.  International participants will be provided with Spanish classes during their stay if they´d like to practice or start learning. Traditional camp activities such as arts & crafts, sports, nature, and swimming will be offered, plus many new and exciting activities! Campers will also have the chance to go on off-camp excursions to a Natural Park, Zip-Lining at an Adventure Park and a day of River Canyoning.
